Guidelines on the use of biochemical cardiac markers and risk factors

Guidelines on the Use of Biochemical Cardiac Markers and Risk Factors
These Guidelines, produced by the Association of Clinical Biochemists in Ireland (ACBI) on different aspects of the Clinical Biochemistry Service, have been developed to promote the most appropriate and cost-effective use of cardiac markers in the diagnosis, risk assessment and management of patients. The guidelines should prove useful, not only to the laboratories carrying out these assays, but also to General Practitioners and non-specialist medical and nursing staff.

ACBI Council wishes to express its thanks to the authors: Dr. Seán Cunningham, Dr. Peadar McGing, Mr. Tony McGill, Dr. Helen Grimes, Dr. Alan Balfe and Dr. Nuala McCarroll for their hard work and commitment in producing these Guidelines.

Niamh Cavanagh FRCPath EurClinChem, Chairman, ACBI
Martin Healy PhD, Chairman, ACBI Scientific Committee.
