Wendy Groenendijk is employed as an Acting Senior Clinical Biochemist in the Biochemistry Department at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Wendy graduated with First Class Honours in a BSc in Biochemistry from University College Cork in 2018 after which time she began her career in Science in a Quality Role at Medtronic, a leading global Medical Device company based in Galway.
In 2021, Wendy graduated with First Class Honours in an MSc in Clinical and Diagnostic Biochemistry from University College Dublin, and was subsequently awarded the Medal in Clinical and Diagnostic Biochemistry by the ACBI. That same year, she took up her first position as a Biochemist at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. Wendy has been employed as a Biochemist in St. Vincent’s University Hospital since 2022; in late 2024, she was promoted to the role of Acting Senior Biochemist. Most recently, Wendy successfully completed Part 1 of the FRCPath Examinations.
